About the Toowoomba Clay Target Club
Our club has been around for over one hundred years. We moved to its current location (10648 Warrego Highway Charlton), in 1966. The Toowoomba Clay Target Club relies heavily on volunteers from its membership for all the duties that need to be performed at the Club. This allows us to keep membership fees down and be able to afford the continual upgrade of equipment that is required for a well functioning Club. As they work for free, please be courteous to them.
Currently the Club offers the following Clay Target disciplines – Trap (Down the Line), Skeet , Tower and Sporting. Targets are 110 mm in diameter and travel at speeds around 70 kph. This can be challenging for beginners!!!
Practice @ the Toowoomba Clay Target Club
The Toowoomba Clay Target Club has practice every Wednesday afternoon commencing at 1 pm. Only financial members of ACTA Clubs are allowed at these sessions.
If you would like to consider joining the Club, but are not sure, we have “Come and Try” on the third Saturday of the month, commencing at 1 pm. The cost is $78 for 25 targets which includes shotgun hire, 25 clays, 25 shotgun shells and basic coaching by a club member. If you would like an additional round, the cost drops to $38.
Coaching is available from our Club Coach, Viv Nolan. Simply contact the secretary and your contact details will be passed onto Viv Nolan to arrange a suitable booking.
Corporate Days @ the Toowoomba Clay Target Club
The Toowoomba Clay Target Club also offers “Corporate Days“. These are very popular with local businesses. Cost is $850 (includes GST) for up to 10 shooters, and $78 for each additional shooter. The Club has a licensed bar. Bottled water, soft drinks and sports drinks are available during the shoot. Beer, wine, cider and spirits are available once the shoot is complete. Bar prices are very reasonable. The kitchen and barbecue facilities are also available if meals are required. See “Corporate” page for more details.
If you are new to the sport, please watch the “Shotgun Safety Training” videos and then read the “Trap & Skeet Training” page for “correct use of facilities” while on the shooting range, at the Toowoomba Clay Target Club.
